Minneapolis-Moline Jet Star
Verified
The Minneapolis-Moline Jet Star (1959–1962) was the first of MM’s popular Jet Star utility/row-crop line.
Identification & configuration
The Jet Star was offered in gasoline, LP-gas, and diesel. It was followed by the Jet Star 2 (1963) and Jet Star 3 / 3 Super (1964–1970) — see the Jet Star generations guide.
Factory paint
Per the MMCI paint records, the 1959–1961 Jet Star wore Bronz Metallic sheet metal and powertrain with PG3 (last Prairie Gold) wheels; for 1962 the powertrain shifted to Dyna Brown. See the full paint reference.
What to verify
- Generation: confirm it’s a first-series Jet Star, not a 2 or 3 — use the year and serial.
- Fuel system: gas, LP, and diesel were offered; verify before buying fuel-system parts.
- Originality: the Bronz Metallic/Dyna Brown trim is a good originality check for the year.
