Twin City MT / MTA

Verified

The Twin City MT / MTA was built by Minneapolis Steel & Machinery Co. under the Twin City name, approximately 1930–1938. MT (1930–34, 420 made) and MTA (1934–38, 3,045 made); KTA + MTA evolved into the MM U. After the 1929 merger that created Minneapolis-Moline, the later Twin City designs were assembled under the MM banner.

The serial ranges below are from Tony Thompson’s compiled Twin City serial record (hosted by the Minneapolis-Moline Collectors Inc.), drawn from factory archives. Use them to date a tractor, and confirm against the machine’s own number. We do not assert horsepower or other specifications here until confirmed against factory literature.

Factory Paint Colors

Body, wheel, and powertrain colors documented for this model's era by the MMCI Paint Committee. The exact part-by-part configuration, year breaks, and footnotes are in the full paint reference. Individual tractors vary — special orders and regional exceptions were common, so confirm against your own machine.

Finding Parts

We don't publish part numbers we can't verify against factory literature. The authority for this model's part numbers is its factory parts catalog; interchange is serial- and configuration-dependent, so always confirm against the parts book before buying.

Carburetor

Documented carburetors for this model: Schebler TTX-5, Schebler TTX-15, Marvel-Schebler TSX-360 (MM #10A524) (per MolineParts.com — MM Carburetor Applications (Marvel-Schebler / Zenith / factory)). Applications vary by year, fuel, and serial — confirm your tractor's number against the carburetor tag and your parts catalog before ordering a kit.
